Crotchety

Daniel Kornrumpf embroiders beautifully detailed portraits onto linen. The stitching gives the appearance of visible brushstrokes that remind me a bit of the Impressionists.

Snapshot

Gregory Crewdson is an American photographer who creates surreal images based on childhood memories. His father was a psychoanalyst whose office was in the basement of their house. Crewdson would overhear his father talking about his clients and their weird stories, which he would later use within his photographs.

To take his photos he builds huge movie-like sets, closing off roads, using rainmaking machines and deploying a large crew to help shoot and develop the whole process.

The end result are photos that feel like snippets of a much greater story. A creepy, creepy story:
